David Gazard
Founder and Director
David founded DPG after heading government relations at Westpac and building his own firm, ECG Advisory Solutions. He came to that work from the federal press gallery, where he was a finance journalist, and from the offices of a Prime Minister and a Federal Treasurer, where he was a senior adviser. Three decades on, he still comments on politics for the ABC and Sky News.

Ben Oquist
Director, Climate and ESG
Ben leads our climate, energy and ESG practice. He was Executive Director of The Australia Institute from 2015 to 2022 and built it into one of the country’s most influential think tanks. Before that he was chief of staff to the Greens leaders Bob Brown and Christine Milne. He has been in Canberra’s policy arguments for more than 25 years and still comments regularly in broadcast and print.

Hollie Hughes
Director
Hollie was a Senator for New South Wales from 2019 to 2025, with shadow assistant ministries for Climate Change and Energy, for Mental Health and Suicide Prevention, and for the NDIS. She chaired the Senate Select Committee on Autism and was Deputy Chair of the Joint Standing Committee on the NDIS. Before her own election she advised two senators, and she founded the Country Autism Network. She has seen the Senate committee system from both sides of it, as a member and as a chair.
